Intellectual Property Commission (IPC)

The Intellectual Property Commission (IPC) is an advisory body for intellectual property management under the Vice-Rector for Research and Applied Activities at TU – Sofia. IPC carries out its activities in accordance with TU – Sofia’s Policy in the field of intellectual property and the Regulations for registration, protection and use of intellectual property objects at TU – Sofia.

Layer 1

Accepts applications for inventions, utility models, trademarks, designs, and other intellectual property objects created within the units of TU – Sofia (faculties, colleges, departments, branches, and functional faculties), and prepares an opinion on the expediency of their protection in Bulgaria and abroad, proposing the filing or rejection of applications and maintaining a register of applications at TU-Sofia.

Layer 1

Assists authors in preparing applications (description of the invention, claims, etc.), prepares the application documentation, and submits the applications to the respective Patent Office.

Layer 1

Covers all expenses for the protection of intellectual property objects of TU – Sofia.

Layer 1

Takes necessary measures to protect obtained patents and other exclusive rights from infringement by third parties;

Layer 1

Assists in the market realization of TU – Sofia’s intellectual property. Assists KTTC in technology transfer, licensing, etc.

Layer 1

Provides consultations on intellectual property matters related to projects, contracts and international cooperations in which TU – Sofia is a party.

All materials related to IPC’s powers are submitted to the Records Office of RIS and are addressed to the Vice-Rector for Research and Applied Activities and the Chairman of IPC.
